Plans to enjoy Mallorca this spring

The cold winter is behind us and the arrival of spring brings with it the desire to make outdoor plans. Mallorca is, without a doubt, the perfect destination to enjoy a getaway and make the most of the weather at this time of year with its long days, mild climate, and colourful landscape.

There are many plans we can make to get to know the island from a different perspective and with any of our hotels as a starting point. From hiking excursions to cycling routes, in the mountains or along the coast, discovering the villages and the historical heritage of the different areas of the island or discovering the coast on board a boat.

Are you ready to discover the most spring-like side of Mallorca? Keep reading because we suggest 6 plans to get to know and enjoy Mallorca this spring.

Route through the most charming villages

One of the main attractions of Mallorca are its charming spots. Many of them can be found on a route through the island’s most charming villages. Throughout the length and breadth of the largest of the Balearic Islands it is very easy to come across some of them, almost unintentionally. A stroll through the streets of Soller, a sunset in Deià, getting lost in the surroundings of Valldemossa or simply enjoying the beauty of Banyalbufar are some of the most recommendable.

Cycling around the island:

This is one of the most important destinations in Europe for cycle tourists. There are countless routes designed by and for bicycle lovers that wind through some of the best landscapes on the island. You don’t need to be an expert to get on two wheels and explore the wonders you’ll find along the way. We promise you’ll be impressed by the scenery and, more importantly, you’ll come away with a totally different view of Mallorca.

Do you like hiking?

Mallorca is a real paradise for lovers of hiking and walking routes. One of its great attractions is the possibility of easily combining mountain and coastal routes. Getting away from built-up areas and getting into nature is one of the objectives of trekking and hiking enthusiasts, and here it is possible, as the distances are usually short. There are some routes that are highly recommended thanks to their popularity, such as the Trapa route, at the end of which we can contemplate the beauty of Dragonera island. However, there are also other lesser-known routes where you can lose yourself in the tranquillity of the forest.

Dare to go on a wine route

Some of the best-valued wines in the world are produced in the areas around the Mediterranean. An ideal plan for a different experience is to dare to go on a wine route or visit a vineyard. It is very interesting and enriching to visit the vineyard, learn about the production process, enter the winery and get to know the product, take part in a tasting and, finally, take a wine home. This is an activity that is highly valued by lovers of good wine, as it allows you to taste them before you buy them and, furthermore, to get to know different regions of the island.

For sea lovers

If you are a sea lover and during your holidays, however short they may be, what you want to do is enjoy the sea, Mallorca is the ideal destination for you. The perfect enclave for you is the Bay of Pollensa, where you will find one of the largest offers of water activities on the island. Some of the options are: kitesurfing, windsurfing, kayaking and jet skiing, among others. But if what you really like is to sail calmly, enjoy the atmosphere and the landscape and feel the sea breeze, the best thing to do is to hire a ride on a “llaüt”, the traditional boat of the Balearic Islands. A truly relaxing experience.

Travelling at Easter?

If you have decided to travel to Majorca and it coincides with Easter, then you are in luck, as this is the best time to enjoy the plans on offer. If, in addition to these plans, you would also like to experience these dates in a more traditional way, you cannot miss some of the most multitudinous events organized for the occasion. In Palma, the procession of the Santísimo Cristo de la Sangre (Holy Christ of the Blood) and the Via Crucis (Stations of the Cross) are considered the most important events of Easter in the capital. The atmosphere is exciting and solemn, thanks to the drums and music that accompany the carvings, brotherhoods and the faithful along the entire route.

So much for our suggestions on the different plans for Mallorca in spring.
